HOM Rhapsody Trainer
The Rhapsody Trainer is a premium balisong trainer and features blade design elements from the Tempest with longer handles (same length as the Basilisk-R) and new design elements that are both functional and cosmetic.
The 154CM heat treated blade of the Rhapsody has larger lightening holes to better mimic the balance of a hollow ground live blade, and newer models feature crowned spines
The titanium handles on the Rhapsody have a new unique pattern that offer lateral grip lines as well as lightening holes on both ends. The handles are offered in a stonewashed finish, or anodized. The stonewashed version wears extremely well and hides even major scuffs and scratches.
The Rhapsody originally came with stainless spacers, but new models have been rebalanced with G10 spacers. All Rhapsody models include a titanium pin latch. The precision bushing system is kept within this model and yes, the trainer does ring when you flip it!

HOM Prodigy Trainer

The Prodigy Trainer is a full-featured premium production balisong trainer. Unlike most available trainers, the Prodigy Trainer has all the features of a high quality production balisong, including CNC machined 6AL4V titanium handles, a heat treated 440C or 154CM trainer blade. The blade features the signature horns and a sweeping recurve bowie profile with lightening holes along the “edge”. The Prodigy feature a precision tuned bushing system and is supremely balanced to practice complicated techniques using a premium balisong without the risk of contacting a sharp cutting edge or tip. The Prodigy Mod.B has been significantly overhauled for 2018 and has newly finished handles in a durable stonewash, paired with an upgraded 154CM hardened stainless blade that has been lightened from the original. To match the lightened blade, the spacers and latch have been upgraded from stainless steel to titanium.
HOM Specter
The Specter Balisong is a premium production knife that can perform as both an excellent flipper as well as EDC cutting tasks. The blade is available in both S35VN and Elmax (Evo models) and can perform cutting tasks while having excellent edge retention. The 6AL4V machined titanium handles have “Butterfly closure” slot designs and were available in two-tone as well as anodized on Evo models. Specter Balisongs come with precision tuned bushing systems as well as titanium spacers and pin latches.

HOM Basilisk

The Basilisk-R is the long awaited successor to the legendary Basilisk that was originally released in 2007. Created from the ground up in an all new design, the Basilisk-R incorporates new features such as precision tolerances and detailed machining while retaining styling features from the original.

The handles on the Basilisk-R are available in carbon fiber, blue twill, and G10 overlays over titanium liners, or full titanium handles on the Titanium Basilisk-R. Handle design features include chamfered slots and holes, combined with horizontal jimping for added grip that will not interfere with fanning techniques.

The Basilisk-R recurve bowie blade is 154CM and includes a CNC chamfered spine, tang, and horns. The blade mechanics are supplemented by a precision tuned bushing system that creates virtually no blade-play even after extensive use.

The Basilisk Elite upgrades the blade steel to S35VN and includes an extremely durable Titanium Nitride (Ti-N) and gray/black PVD coating.

The I-Basilisk is the newest model and features billet channel titanium handles. The I-Basilisk also features a new "inverted" blade design using S35VN steel to achieve lighter weight and higher durability for faster flipping.
HOM Chimera
The Chimera Balisong is the latest creation from Hom Design. Packed full of cutting edge elements and premium features, the Chimera raises the bar in the production segment and is dual-purpose that is true to its name: the knife excels at both a cutting tool and a performance flipper. Unique to this model, the overlays are titanium and provide a solid exterior structural design for the hidden zen pins that pass through the composite liners. The blade not only uses premium S35VN steel and a crowned spine across all models, but has a pinch-free spade tang that is inspired by the legendary Balibalistic Knives. The innovation culminates at the titanium pin latch, which can retract manually into the handle without any tools, springs, or magnets– a first in the balisong world.

Heibel Invictus
The Invictus balisong is the fourth “production” style knife offered by Heibel Knives. Invictus means “undefeated” or “unconquerable” The inspiration for the Invictus came from combining all of the good aspects from both its predecessor knives, the Sapient and the Menace, focusing on the flippability, comfort, and balance. We took the menace handles and slimmed them down to decrease the overall frame size, added and extended the jimping, and utilized side chamfers where the handle is gripped in order to give the handles a more rounded feel. We increased the washer thickness from 0.016″ to 0.02″ so that blade thickness and weight can be reduced. The blade tang was also redesigned to keep that extra material away so it doesn’t interfere with your fingers during flips.
Heibel Menace
The Menace balisong is the third “production” style knife offered by Heibel Knives. However, this was the first knife model with tapered channel construction handles, and the first model used to introduce some special new finishes with a laser engraver. The Menace was released in 2021 and followed by full production in the first half of 2022. A total of 95 were produced, and since then have been discontinued.
Heibel Sapient
The Sapient balisong is the second “production” style knife offered by Heibel Knives. However, this was the first knife model with channel construction handles and bushing pivots. The Sapient was released in 2020 and followed by full production in 2021. A total of 77 were produced, and since then have been discontinued.
Heibel Valor
The Valor balisong is the first “production” style knife offered by Heibel Knives. The Valor was released in 2019 and followed by full production in 2020. A total of 84 were produced, and since then have been discontinued.
